A prison official said: “of Weighs 10 pounds three cakes were brought, and the former prime minister paid for them.”
He further added that on request of some prisoners, Sharif cut a cake and made a short speech.
Muhammad Safdar, the retired captain and son-in-law of Nawaz Sharif, and her daughter Maryam Nawaz attended ther ceremony . Maryam informed women prisoners of progress during the Muslim League Nawaz Nawaz government in the country.
According to officials, the prisoners expressed interest when the former prime minister told him that the government decided to conduct an atomic test in 1998. He said Nawaz Sharif also talked about his family’s struggle after the independence of the country.
According to the PML-N leader, during this period, Nawaz Sharif pledged to launch a plan to provide higher education for prisoners in prisons.
He told “In this regard, the aid of Islamic International University will be necessary.” He further added that there is a plan to develop postgraduate education for prisoners and organize courses in prison.
